Hello golfer,
In this week's newsletter we unveil our Masters Monster Offer, review the week's competitions as Nick gets a hole-in-one his way to victory, and we also look at what products have arrived in-store this week. Enjoy the read.
I'm glad to report that the range is back open after successfully drying out. We have topped up with 2,500 new balls for you to use when you practice. Please contact the shop about this year's pricing.
Bookings are coming in thick and fast for our Nike Experience Day on Saturday, 9 April. This is your chance to have a tour-standard custom fitting for FREE. Contact us here to book your place.
We love this time of year for several reasons, but one of them is due to all of the new arrivals that we take in-store. In the past week we've had deliveries from Nike (ladies clothing and RZN Tour balls), Titleist (bags and AP1/AP2 irons) as well as FreeStyle shoes from FootJoy.
Crazy Masters Offer
Alongside our usual Masters Sweep we will be running a special promotion in-store. Buy any piece of Nike hardware in the weeks leading up to the event and get your money back as shop credit if Charl Schwartzel wins. No catches, it is as simple as that.
Hua Hin, Thailand, is a place where I once won a tournament as an amateur. This week the European Tour visited and it was Australia's Scott Hend who triumphed. He finished one ahead of local boy Piya Swangarunporn who had a final round 63.
Over the water it was a tense finish at Copperhead as the Ladies WGC in China was dominated by South Korea as world No.35 Lee Jung-Min stormed to her eighth career title with a one stroke victory over compatriots Lee Seung-Hyun, Kim Bo-Kyung and Ji Han Sol.
Seniors' Winter Stableford - It may come as a surprise to see Rick Austin's name topping the list, or maybe not. I don't think I've seen suck consistency since Tiger Woods in 2000. His 39 points left him two shots clear of Geoff Kimpton in second with John Reid third on 36.
Winter League - Saturday saw Nick Brown record a superb hole-in-one on the 14th on his way to victory in the Kenrick, 39 points was Nick's winning score. Runner-up on the day was Jayesh Tank with 37 points, beating Mark Leat on countback. In the Blair Salver, Phil High went one better with an excellent 40 points. It was Chair of Greens Trevor in second on 37 with Chair of Juniors Shaun third on 36.
Junior Stableford - The juniors enjoyed their first competition of the year on Sunday. In the 18-hole event, Daniel Kitchen returned 39 points to pip Josh Samaroo by one. In the 12-hole green tee event, Lewis Body stormed to a 13 point victory. Congratulations to William Betteridge and Lucas Baldwin (in his first ever comp) on coming second and third.
Ladies 12-Hole Stableford - The ladies had some lovely weather for their competition on Tuesday. In Division One it was Ros Osborne who claimed top spot, beating Barbara Garret on countback after a pair of 23s. Third on 20 points was Lorraine Hulse Hollywood. Division Two's winner was Sue Pogson with 23 points, two back in second place was Christine Hancock and third on 20 was Jaqui Hynes. Similar scores were seen in Division Three as Ev Wilson's 21 points pipped Brenda Dooney by a single points. Finally, in Division Four it was Anne Chadwick's day as she carded 22 points. Runner-up was Anne Fisher with 19, third was Gill Cooper on 18.
