My crazy offer of buy one Nike wood and get a second one half price is still on. So far a couple of people have taken advantage but there is still stock left. Click here to learn more about Nike's 2016 line-up.
The Oakley sunglasses are proving popular. I will have a demo pair this week so that you can go and test the PRIZM technology out on the course for yourself. Click here to view Oakley's full range.
We have transformed a few people's games over the past few weeks just by re-gripping clubs. The difference to your grip pressure is unbelievable, making you much more relaxed out on the course. Sounds like it's too good to be true? It's not. Pop your clubs in to us and we will see if they are due an MOT.
Thursday's Trotter 5 saw a record number of entries as 98 golfers took to the fairways at Heswall. After a start that has been dominated by the colts and juniors, it was refreshing to see Brian Robson flying the flag for the seniors with his winning score of 66. Runner-up on the day was Matthew Bowes with a 69, third was Joe Williamson, also with 69.
What a scorcher we had for the first Gents Invitation of the year. The course was immaculate and John Body did a great job in his first event as Chair of Golf. Scorching was also how I would describe Craig Allen and Partner Julian Deardon's golf as they stormed to 46 points for a three-shot win. How about the pair in second? Howard Williams and his 85-year-old father, Tom, carded a superb 43 points. Well done to all the other prize winners up to 5th place, five nearest the pins and the 12 people who recorded a two.
The ladies hosted their friends and guests on Tuesday for the Team Invitation. We avoided the forecasted storms and had a great day. Congratulations to Ann Maria Kitchen and Theresa O'Neill with their guests Caroline Berry & Collie Faulkner, from Bromborough, for winning with an excellent score of 88 points.
An amendment to the men's Alf Lambert Salver results. First was Tony Walker, second Brendan Bilton and third Mike Green.
Sweden was the base of last week's European Tour event. Andy 'Beef' Johnston was in the mix but it was yet again another win for team Europe as Matt Fitzpatrick went home with the trophy. Our Ryder Cup side is really looking strong.
Over at Jack's Memorial Tournament, the top three in the world were all trying to make it two wins out of two as Day, Spieth and McIlory pegged it up. However, it was two names that you may not have heard of in the playoff, as Will McGirt beat Jon Curran on the first extra hole.
On Monday last week, two of Alan's tour players successfully navigated 36 holes at Walton Heath to book their places in this month's US Open at Oakmont CC. Congratulations to Lee Slattery and Andrew Johnston.
