The European Ryder Cup line-up is now complete as Darren Clarke named his three wildcard picks on Tuesday afternoon:
Martin Kaymer
Lee Westwood
Thomas Pieters
Made in Demark is one of the more recent additions to the European Tour and a favourite for many tour pros. The setting for the short par-3 16th dubbed 'Himmerland Hill' is the main reason - 3,000 spectators are packed around this short par-3 making for an amphitheatre atmosphere. This year's winner was Thomas Pieters; the big hitting Belgian triumphing by one shot from Wales' Bradley Dredge, who was now been runner-up twice in the three times the event has been played.
It was the first leg off the FedEx Play-Offs in the US. Bethpage Black was the setting and it was Patrick Reed who enhanced his chances of scooping the $10 million FedEx bonus. His final round of one-under-par was good enough for a one-shot victory. Next stop is the Deutsche Bank Championship.

The range continues to be a great facility enjoyed my many, however we need to be health and safety conscious each time we use it. Please abide by the safety notices on each bay, mainly not to hit balls when players on adjacent fairways are in range. There is also a fairly new rule that the end set of three mats are only to be used by the professional staff. There is a notice there, however this is often ignored. There is no 'shank wall' with these bays therefore endangering players on the 13th tee.
The Trotter series was back on Thursday, this was event number 16 and it produced a first-time winner in Syd Sullivan who carded a 67, earning himself a two-shot handicap reduction. Second after a season-low 76 gross was Mark Sanderson with a nett 68, beating Roy Christian on countback. Lowest gross on the day went to Elliot Smith's 67.
Saturday's 4BBB Stableford competition once again produced some big scores. Dave Cederholm & Ryan Garland will have been pleased with themselves after signing for 45 points, they were third. Mark Gibson & Pete Cucchi must have thought a ten-under 46 was good enough for the win, but alas it only secured them second spot. It was a superb effort from John Trott & Peter Rogers, scoring 47 points, to top the leaderboard.
The August Bank Holiday Greensomes also produced runaway winners with Brian & Pat Kearon scoring what has to be a record 44 points. Runners up were Trevor & Thea Cornford with 39, Mike & Brenda Dooney were third with 38.
It was the ladies St. Andrews Meeting on Tuesday. Division One was won, not for the first time, by Anna Webster with a 74, one clear of Sue Totty in second with Kate Dean in third. Wendy Smith was Division Two's winner, again with a 74. Runner up with 75 Jan Lyon, third with 78 was Maureen Blackham. Liz Lewis has been dropped a shot after winning Division Three with a 71, Pat Platt finished second after a 75 and Helen Billington one further back in third. The St. Andrews Trophy winner came in the form of Division Four's Anne Chadwick who returned a three-under 70. Second with 73 was Kath Grainger, third with 77 was Joyce Richmond.
