Less hitting 6 irons on the range and more playing with friends trying to shoot low scores has been Alex Noren's recipe for success over the last few months. The Swede is on fire having been 108th in the world rankings in June, he is now 9th! Over a very tough Sun City course, in testing conditions, he managed a final round 9 under to win the Nedbank Challenge by 5 shots. There was another top 20 finish for Tommy Fleetwood, he has made an incredible turn around since starting back up with Alan.
Pat Perez was back on form over in Mexico as he picked up the OHL classic at Mayokoba.
There are a number of people with outstanding balances on shop accounts. Please endeavour to settle these as soon as possible.
The last contractor has now left the course. All the greens have been laid by Guy and the team and the mild weather is very favourable for turf development. All of the new drainage channels and haul routes have been levelled and seeded. Please try and avoid walking across these where possible as this will slow the recovery process down. As stated in an email last week ALL of these areas although not individually marked MUST be treated as G.U.R.

Thursday last week the November edition of the Seniors Winter Stableford Series took place. Martin Higby got the better of Roy Christian on countback after a pair of 37s. Third with 36 was John Reid.
In Saturday's Individual Stableford scoring was yet again through the roof. Simon Banks shot a level par gross for 45 points to beat Andy Kitchen on the back 9! Third with 43 was Brian Edwards. In division 2 Graham Lea-Swain topped the list, not for the first time this year with 39, again there was a countback, this time, 3 ways, John Reid was the unlucky runner up, with Mark Leat being nudged into third.
The juniors played a 4BBB Stableford over 12 holes on Sunday, after 3 scores of 26 it looked like a card playoff would be needed until Jame Lemon and Olly Davies Wilson came in with a winning 27. Well done lads.
Tuesdays ladies competition was an individual informal 12 hole stableford. Division One was battle of the Barbara's. Barbara Garrett out scoring Barbara Eyres for a 5 point win after a great round of 30 points. Third, also with 25 was Sue Totty. Sue Pogson was Division Two's winner with 28, Sue Day was runner-up with 25, third on countback was Sandra Jones. 25 points was the winning number for Brenda Dooney in Division Three, one shot back were Ala Lloyd in second and Christine Hancock in third. Mary Holgate topped Division Four with 26, from Anne Chadwick (also 26) and Pauline Jones (25).
Next Friday 25th we will be participating in BLACK FRIDAY, set a reminder, and put the date in your diary. There will be some deals like you've never seen before.
As many of you know, for 2017, PING hardware will be available from the shop. What you don't know is that Benross golf clubs will also be back.
The new line up is tremendous, custom fitting is available on both woods and irons, ladies and gents. For those who don't see the need to spend £300-£400 on a new driver, there is a fantastic option in the Benross range for just £139! I already have demonstration irons available so you can test it before it even launches. I had a go this week. My own 7 iron will carry around 165 on average. This Benross one averaged at 180! Longer carrying clubs make finding the target so much easier.
