Rain is the word of the week again!
This time it was the Men's Invitation that lost the fight against the weather. Electrical activity and pouring rain forced it to be abandoned at 9.30am on saturday - typically the rest of the day was glorious and many of the travelling visitors still enjoyed the course. We hope to find a date in the calender to reschedule the day.
The Ladies Team Invitation wasn't much better with two suspensions of play during Tuesday. Despite the weather the ladies enjoyed the course and there was much praise from the visitors.
The Captain and I had another ding dong challenge match on Thursday. This time, against Peter Rogers and Colin Jones, the match ended in a hard fought half on the last green. Neil Atkinson and Rick Austin still remain the only pair to have beaten us!
Keiron Graham and myself competed in the Campeys National Pro-Green keeper challenge at Hart Common Golf Club on Tuesday. Although we didn't threaten the leaders with our 73 we were by no means last!
Rachael Goodall continues her good form and recorded a career highest 7th place finish on the Ladies Access tour last week. Keep it up Rach!
It was also a good week for some of Alan Thompson's European tour players in Austria. Lee Slattery's superb closing 66 pushing him into 3rd place and Simon Wakefield recording a top 10 finish.
There are still a good number of top players left in the 'top scorer' sweep for the World Cup. The first match getting underway tonight so make sure you come and take part this weekend!
We have just taken delivery of the all new Powakaddy fw5 lithium trolley. Please feel free to come and have a look. It's a very stylish and practical piece of kit in my opinion.
