Well done to Peter Rogers, Pat Rodgers, John Trott and Harry Kennedy for winning the FOG world cup team event last Thursday!
The rescheduled Spring Meeting was played on Saturday in far better weather than the first one, however the drier course saw many people struggle off the blue tees with a comp standard scratch of 77. The results were as follows:
Division One
1st - Nick Orr - Nett 73
2nd - Carl Adams - Nett 74
3rd - Colin Jones - Nett 74
Division Two

Some very good scores in those conditions.
24 players decided that the yellow tee Stableford was a better option and it proved to be three shots easier with a standard scratch of 74. Well done to our winners this week.
Conditions also proved tough for those of us trying to get through Regional Qualifying for the Open. The best scores were (+2) from Tom Dolan and Oli Carr however no one from Heswall managed to make it to Hillside this year.
I am seeing more and more people benefit from lessons out on the course as this is where strategy, psychology and 'match practice' come into their own. If you've not had an on course lesson then I think it should be seriously considered. With a 9 hole lesson costing just £50 it could be the best purchase you make this year!
