Competiton roundup
There was a break in the Trotter Series last week as we hollow tined the greens.
Competition golf was back on in Saturday, however, as the gents played a 3 Man Wave. The winning team with a score of 80 points were Cameron McIvor, Sam Orr & Junior Captain John Kitchen. With 79, the runners up were Carl Adams, Derek Eason & Richard Knowlson, and in third place on the same score were Ethan Smith, Jack Grey & Adam Moore.
On Tuesday the ladies battled for the Grandmother Trophy, being a grandmother was an important part of the qualifying criteria. Clare Palmer won Division One with 36 points, Lucy Jamieson was runner up with 35 and Ruth Walker was third with 34. Helen Billington scored 37 to win Division Two ahead of Sheila Scott in second with 35 and Alka Tank in third with 33. Division Three was a tight affair, a three way playoff was needed on 33 points; Anne Chadwick came out on top, Ala Lloyd was second and Chris Bates was third. The winner of the trophy came from Division Four in the form of Mary Holgate who's winning score of 38 was the best of the day, second with 35 was Margaret Steeles, with Pauline Norcott coming third on 32. Congratulations to Keith Greenfield and my dad Neil who were victorious in the Seniors Summer 4 Ball Final against Phil Harkness and Ade Wright on Monday. The match was up and down all the way, with the game eventually being decided on the 16th, 3&2.
