Greetings golfers,

He did it! What a phenomenal season for Tommy! The DP world championship last week was the final chance for Garcia or Rose to catch Fleetwood at the top, although a tied 21st place finish wasn’t what he was hoping for, a back 9 collapse and a victory for John Rahm meant that Tommy held firm at the top. It literally went down to the last putt of the season as Rose needed to make eagle to overtake the leader. This victory is great for British golf and very special for us at Heswall with all the work that Alan Thompson has put in with Tommy over the last 18 months.

There was another first time winner on the PGA tour as Austin Cook lifted the RSM Classic trophy at Sea Island in Georgia.

12 Hole Stableford

In the 12 hole midweek stableford last Thursday, Annemaria Kitchen beat Jill Bowes to top spot with a countback after they both scored 17 points in the ladies event.

Geoff Kimpton scored 27 to win the Gents event by three from Steve Chantler in second, one further back with 23 was Martin Battishill.


Winter League

We are pleased to say that trialed a booking sheet for the informal winter leagues on Saturday and with 106 competing it worked very well!

The Blair Salver was won with 39 points by Neil Stephenson, runner up on the same score was Danny Leonard, third with 38 was Lee Pennington.

The Kenrick was also settled on countback as Graham Thomas’ 39 edged out Jamie Lloyd’s, third with 38 was Keith Housley. Anyone scoring 37 or better was subjected to a handicap reduction as the CSS was 36 points.
