Testament to our course!
After some great weather Tuesday and Wednesday last week we were all set for the midweek Stableford on Thursday. But yet again the snow fell. It melted quickly but left the course saturated. Once again, testament to the drainage and the new greens we were able to play the winter leagues on Saturday. The booking sheet showed it was worth it again as 90 players entered and many more just played social golf. This was the last week for the Blair Salver qualifying rounds. Shay Keogh took top spot on the day with 41, runner up was Ross Cornford with 40, third with 36 was Steve Skupski. Barry Martin continued his good form to win the Kenrick with 40 points, John Farrell was second with 38 ahead of Iain Turnick in third on the same score. Special mention to Lee Pennington who recorded three ‘2s’ on his card, even more special was that his tee shot didn’t finish on the green for any of them! Good luck to all those who have progressed to the matchplay stage of the Blair, the draw is now up on the board.
