European joy on both sides of the Atlantic...
The European Tour’s flagship event was once again a huge spectacle. The Wentworth course was as good as it’s ever been for the BMW PGA Championship. It’s always the case that we hope for a home winner, or if not at least a European. Mcilroy opened up in style with 65 & 67 for the first 2 rounds and looked unstoppable, but sneaking up quietly with only 2 bogeys all week was Franchesco Molinari, this level of golf around a tough course deserves to win the title and that’s what he did by 2 shots. On the PGA Tour they were playing the Fort Worth Invitational at Colonial. American Kevin Na had an opening 62 and a closing 61, good enough to win any tournament you’d think, but not when Justin Roses putter works though. The Englishman was flying the European Team flag with a very impressive winning total of 20 under par.
