The windiest day of the year...
Here’s the ladies results from last Wednesday’s competition which was possibly the windiest day of the year! Barbara Jamieson topped division one with 30 points but needed a card countback to beat both Christina Hornsby & Sue Totty in second and third.
Helen Billington was a clear winner in division Two with her 32 point haul, runner up with 27 was Hilary Sharpe, third with 26 was Jo Ratcliffe. Sheila Kenwright was the field leader and division three winner with a superb score of 35, runner up with 33 was Bernie Jones, Pauline Norcott was third with a 31. Val Smith won the final division with 33 points, runner up with 29 was Jenny Jackson and third with 28 was Gill Cooper. There was no midweek Stableford last Thursday as the Wirral Classic was still in town. Captain victorious!
The Captain was the winner of the Joe Collins putter last week, his score of 22 points over the 12 hole course beat Alan Williamson on countback.
Maiden win for Colin!
The gents were back in action on Saturday for an individual Stableford. The three best scores came out of division two. Firstly there was a maiden win at the club for Colin Singleton who had 41, runner up with 38 was Gareth Pennington and third with the same score was Mike Roberts. Rick Austin was the winner of division one with 37, beating both Alan Jones and Phil High on countback. More like spring!
Although it was the ladies Autumn Meeting on Tuesday it felt more like Spring.
Division one was battle of the Jamieson’s, Barbara (off 1) best Lucy (off Scratch) on countback after both returned a 74, third with 79 was Jackie Walker. A countback was needed to separate the top 2 in division two also, Hilary Sharpe getting the better of Sue Pogson, third was Tam Allen with 76.
The Autumn Meeting Trophy was won by division three player Karen Couchman with a superb 69, runner up in the division was Ala Lloyd with 78, third with 79 was Hazel Ridge. Kelly Marsh also had a superb score in division four as her 70 won by 6 from Anne Fisher, third with 77 was Jane Mountfield.
