| [*END*] Welcome to this weeks news, we have a British Master, another low one from Joe and some more new arrivals in the shop. Happy reading. |
An ace week for Eddie Justin Rose and Walton Heath were the co hosts of this years Sky Sports British Masters. There were plenty of Brit’s vying for the title, Rose himself, Johnson, Wallace , Fleetwood but there was one man who did it and lead from start to finish. That was the very likeable figure of Eddie Pepperell, by his own admission he didn’t play his best golf on Sunday but the lead he had built was enough to keep him ahead of nearest competitor Alex Bjork. This was Eddie's second win this year, he’s around to stay. As always the new PGA tour season kicked off with the CIMB classic in Malaysia. Scoring was incredible as 25 players finished on 15 under par or better. Australia’s Marc Leishman got his season off to a flying start with a final round of 65, a 26 under par total and a 5 shot victory.

Round up As you know the course manager and staff hollowcored and dressed the greens last week (with help from the Captain). This is quite often met with resistance due to the difficulty of putting on them straight after. Testament to the work and the greens themselves was Joe Williamson’s score in Thursday’s midweek Stableford, he went round in a gross 66 for a 42 point winning score! Runner up with 37 was Dan Ince, third on the same score was Ryan Mciver. The Seniors played the first round of their winter Stableford series on the same day, Frank Lovell was top of the list with his score of 37, one back was Geoff Kimpton on 36, beating Tony Walker on countback. |

Unfortunately we lost the Saturday Stableford to some biblical rain around 09:30am. Those who paid their entry fee will have it rolled over into the next competition they play. The ladies played a Stableford on Tuesday and it was still off the red tees which is great this time of year. Barbara was at it again in division one, her 37 was four ahead of Sue Banks in second, third with 32 was Judith Brown.
Marilyn Jones was the division two winner with 32, Sheila Scott was second with 31 beating Theresa O’Neill in countback.
Division three belonged to Bernie Jones who had a winning score of 34, runner up was Kelly Marsh with 31 and third with 30 was Sandra Jones.
Gillian Syvret won division four with a 32, Kate Sellars was second with 29, third with the same score was Barbara Stokes.
In the 9 hole event it was the battle of the 15s, Mo Cubley edged out Sue Lovell and Cherry Coates. |
Away day My Dad, Neil took a team of golfers over to Formby on Tuesday to take on a team of their members including 3 of his life long friends in a Ryder cup style fourball match up. It was good news for Heswall who won 4-0, the team was Laurie Kirkbride & Rick Austin, Trevor Starkey Jones & Jim Eddowes, The Captain & Colin Jones, Frank Lovell & Neil Atkinson.
Special mention to Rick Austin for his hole in one at the par 3 10th. The event raised £80 for the Captain's Charity, no doubt the Formby boys will be out for revenge in the return fixture next April.

New arrivals More winter stuff is starting to arrive and it looks great. As it gets colder don’t forget to keep your extremities warm, your hands for example are your only contact on the club, cold hands leads to poor golf, winter gloves are a must and mittens over the top can add an extra layer of warmth.
These Titleist and Heswall hats are great for the ladies too!
This time of year I travel around the county visiting various suppliers and manufacturers to order stock into the shop for next season. If there’s anything that you would like to see that we currently don’t stock then please get in touch and we will listen to the feedback. Get in touch here. |

When you step onto the tee with a driver in hand, there are two thoughts in most golfers' minds: "Hit it far, and hit it straight". Both of these were easier said than done, until Titleist released its new TS2 and TS3 drivers earlier this year... |
Both of these drivers are designed to bring more speed to your game, which results in greater distance. It's as simple as that. The Titleist TS2 is all about forgiveness. In fact, it has the highest MOI that Titleist has ever produced, which means it's more resistant to twisting at impact, for longer and straighter shots. However, if you have a consistent miss with your drives, the TS3 will be perfect for you as we can set it up to counter your destructive shot. With two models to choose from, it's more important than ever to come and see us for a custom fitting. What numbers will you be putting up on the Titleist board? |
