Last week's winners and riders
Unfortunately there’s not a great deal of reporting to do this week as rain stopped play over the weekend, but thankfully we now have some brighter weather forecast. The Midweek Stableford last Thursday went ahead as planned despite gale force winds. Laurie Kirkbride didn’t seem to mind much as he scored 24 points to top the list, while Paul Jamieson was second with 21 points and third with 20 points was Joe Williamson.
The seniors played their March Stableford on the same day and “what wind“ said Brian Edwards, who scored a very impressive 39 points, runner up with 35 points was Keith Rafferty and third with 34 points was Richard McNeil. Susan Wright won the ladies event with 16 points. The ladies also played their 12 hole Stableford on Tuesday. In division one Sue Totty played to her handicap to win by 4 points with 24 points, runner up was Sue Banks and third also with 20 points was Dawn Hodge. Marilyn Jones pipped Kelly Marsh to the top of division two after they both scored 25 points, third was Annemaria Kitchen with 23. Trisha Lees topped division three with 21 points ahead of Ala Lloyd with 20 points and Maureen Cubley on the same score. Level par 24 points was also the winning score for Kath Grainger in division four, second with 23 points was Margaret Steels and third with 19 points was Sue Jones.
We set a record two weeks ago for the fewest players in a competition. And yesterday we set another. Clare Palmer came both first and last in the 18 hole event with a score of 28 points - well done Clare. |
