It's the end of the season and what a season it has been! Heswall has hosted the County Championships, the Liverpool Society of Golf Captains, the North of England U16 strokeplay, the Ladies' West Cheshire finals and countless events for the members throughout an action packed summer.
The video on the right is of recent aerial footage of our course which has been recorded with the very latest in camera and drone technology. Click on the image and watch the clip illustrating our course how you have never seen it before!
Winter work has now begun on the course and we ask you to be patient whilst Graden works are being carried out on the greens over the next week.
Mini Trotter
We had a mini Trotter last Thursday. Rick Austin carded one over par gross to take the spoils with a nett 44. Runner-up was Jay Tank with 49 and in third was Gary Lewis with a nett 50.
4BBB Stableford
Saturday was a 4BBB stableford off the white tees and yet again we see Rob Cookson at the top of the leaderboard. Rob he tells me it was his brother-in-law, Ed Dhenin, who should take the praise as they retuned a brilliant 43 points! Runners-up, in the same group, chasing them all the way home were Chris Dhenin and John Paul Stanhope with 42 and in third were Pat Rodgers and Paul Jamieson with a 41. Commiserations to the other four pairs that ended on 41 but lost out on countback
Ladies' Foursomes
The ladies played Foursomes on Tuesday where the weather was better than the forecast. Winning the event with 37 points were Sue Banks and Charlotte Bilton, ahead of Kath Grainger and Sue Pogson in second and Sara Spencer and Kath Milligan in third - a good comeback considering they carded four blobs on the outward nine!
I have now had the results of the customer survey which went out last month. I'd like to start by saying thank you to everyone who spared five minutes of their time to fill out the survey.
It makes for interesting viewing, as amongst some of the statistics I have learned that 78% of the members have taken advantage of my internet price policy and have purchased their equipment through the shop, getting the added advantage of our knowledge and after sales service. It was also interesting to know that 51% were not sure which brand of clubs they would play next, that's where we come in so please ask the question.
The winner of the putting assessment is Mary Holgate, congratulations and thanks again to everyone that took part.
