Turkish delight for Hatton
What an event Turkey was to watch last week. 72 holes wasn’t enough to separate the tours best in this Rolex event, there was a six way playoff that finished under the floodlights of the Montgomerie Maxx Royal course. As it always does the whole week boiled down to the short game.
Eventual winner Tyrell Hatton chipped in for a birdie 4 on the first playoff hole to extend his tournament and then when there was only he and Matthias Schwab left, the Austrian missed a 3’ putt to give the Englishman the win.
All eyes now move to Sun City for the penultimate event of the season. |
On the course...
We are fighting the weather again at the moment and unfortunately we lost on Thursday, but we were open again for the Winter Stableford on Saturday, when Chris Hornsby beat Alan Jones on a count back for top spot in Division One with 25 points, Harry Kennedy was third with 24. Division Two was won with the same score by Sam Toothill, runner-up was Gavin Cleary with 24 and third with 23 was Mike Taylor. Unfortunately, rain stopped play again on Tuesday so there was no ladies competition, fingers crossed for some drier skies going forward.

There are still a few lesson packages left for sale, four hours of coaching for just £150, these can be taken in the swing room, on the range or even out on the course. An ideal Christmas gift perhaps...
