Mini Trotter was another closely contested event. The eventual winner, running out with 26 points, was Frank Lovell who edged out Mike Morris on countback. 25 points for Martin Battishill landed him third place.
Last Saturday was another round of the Winter League, a fantastic day to play golf yet again. In the Blair Salver Rick Austin was at it again, this time taking top spot with 42 points - he will be considering the Seniors' Tour at this rate! Peter Rogers was only one shy with 41 points, one ahead of third placed John McNeill. It was a battle of the Richards in the Chris Kenrick with Richard Larkins pipping Richard Knowlson on a card playoff having both scored 43 points. In third was Peter Walsh continuing his purple patch with 40 points.
It was Turkey Trot time on Tuesday for the ladies as they enjoyed this 12 hole stableford. With a winning score of 51 points were Ros Osborne, Liz Lewis and Anne Chadwick, ahead of runners-up Pauline Darbyshire, Marg Nicholas and Ros White with 49 points. In third, with 48 points, were Sheila Scott, Eileen Kilgannon and Sue Lovell. Nearest the line on 13 was Ros White and nearest the pin on 14 was Kate Dean who converted for a two!
The Putting Seminar hosted by Raa Putters was enjoyed by 15 of members on Tuesday evening as they gained vital insights into the art of putting, even managing to get their own stroke measured. Lee has offered to run another one due to the success of this one. Please make it known in the shop if you would like to attend a future session and I will fix up a date in the new year - click here to register your interest.
This week I have sent out a mail about having a club MOT. This can be done in half a day but will need to be booked in to avoid disappointment - please book your MOT by clicking HERE.
