Trotter 10
Trevor Cornford made a welcome return to the winners circle in Trotter 10 last Thursday with a superb score of 42 points to top Division One ahead of runner-up Ally Macdonald with 41 and Shay Keogh wit the same score. Division Two was won by Bob Mottershead with 40 points, just pipping second-placed Ray Lawless with the same score and Pete Bellfield who came third with 39 points.
White Tee Stableford There was relief for many on Saturday as it was the first weekend without a medal card since golf returned, as we had a White Tee Stableford! Ross Cornford kept the prizes in the family this week by topping Division One with 40 points, and just one back in second was Lee Pennington, just ahead of Jim Eddowes in third with 38.
Ben Cornford (yes, still in the family) wasn't to be outdone and matched cousin Ross' 40 points to win Division Two, three ahead of Richard J Hughes who came second with 37, and four ahead of third-placed Chris Dhenin who scored 36.
The Division Three winner was Mark Fitzpatrick, who also scored 40 points, beating Trevor Mawhinney in second with 38 and Geoff Kimpton who completed the prizes with a 36 in third.
Ladies Summer Meeting The Ladies Summer Meeting was postponed on Tuesday as a blanket of rain hovered all day, but don't worry, this fixture will be rearranged!

Popov and DJ in leagues of their own There are sporting shocks, and then there’s the World No. 304 winning a Major! Germany’s Sophia Popov finished on -7 at Royal Troon to claim victory at the AIG Women’s Open. Despite having never won on the LPGA or Ladies European Tour before, the 27-year-old fought off challenges from stars like World No. 8 Minjee Lee and seven-time Major Champion Inbee Park. Meanwhile, on the PGA Tour, Dustin Johnson won The Northern Trust, the first FedEx Cup playoff event, by shooting a staggering -30. That ended up being an 11-stroke victory, which raises the age-old question of what’s more entertaining:
An all-out birdie fest or tough, battling golf? Shooting these sort of scores requires immense confidence in your game. So, if there's a part of yours that you're particularly struggling with, send us a message below and we'll be happy to help.
