St. Andrews meeting
It was the final outing on the blue tees for the gents on Saturday in the St. Andrews Meeting, the greens were like lightning and scoring was tough. Mr Ex Captain Roy was the meeting winner with a 71 out of division one, second with a 74 was Lee Pennington and Michael Robinson was third with 75, Leo Baldwin was the division two winner with a 71, scooping the junior prize, Simon Walsh was, therefore, the division winner with 72, runner up with 75 was Sam Toothill and with the same score, Ian Turnick was third. There will be an 18 hole playoff between Mike Robinson and Mike Mcqueen for the scratch trophy, both scored 79 on the day There were 35 yellow tee competitors, Callum Dalton was the best of those with 35 points, he nudged Peter Walsh into second on countback, third with 33 was Paul Fairclough Summer was back once again for the mid-morning starters in the ladies St.Andrews meeting on Tuesday, and having played with Christina Hornsby last week it was evident that a low one was coming. There was no better time to do it than this, and a score of 70 netted her the Trophy and a win in division one, runner up with a superb 71 of her own was Barbara Jamieson and third with 79 was Dawn Hodge. Anne Scriven was the division two winner, her score of 75 was two ahead of Ros Osborne, third with 81 was Theresa O'Neill. There was a card countback to decide the winner of division three, Christine Hancocks 78 just bettered that of Alka Tank, and with an 84 Liz Lewis was third Gillian Syvret was at it again, she must have won division four more than anyone...ever! Her 77 topped the list ahead of Eileen Kilgannon who also had 77, third with 82 was Anne Fisher. In the 9 hole event, Pam Holden recorded her first win with a level par score of 18 points, runner-up with 15 was Anne Cleary, third with the same score was Liz Grayson.
