Mon 22 Jun - The seniors competed for the Charles Craig Salver last Monday. Congratulations to overall winner Gordon Osborne and also Nigel Kenwright who was not only runner-up but also winner of the seniors' Committee Cup trophy as part of the event.
Tue 23 Jun - The ladies results from last Tuesday are as follows. Division One was won by Trudi Harris with 36, one ahead of Kath Milligan in second. Division Two was a tale of the three Chris' with Hancock (37), Lloyd (35) and Hornsby taking the prizes. It was the tale of the 33s in Division Three as countback decided the order of Joan Wilson, Pat Sheen and then Brenda Dooney. Division Four saw Jaquie Walker's 34 lead the way, ahead of Anne Chadwick in second and Kyle Betteridge in third.
Thu 25 Jun - Trotter 8 last Thursday saw 72 golfers compete. Yet again there were some really good scores, but none better than the 66 of Mike Hagen. He was followed closely by Phil High in second with 67 and Mat Way in third with 68. There were another 12 scores under par!
Sat 27 Jun - On Saturday there was a choice of the Ball Cup 1st round off the blues or a Yellow Tee Stableford. In the medal, Division One was won by Graham Small on countback from Josh Dixon after they both carded 71s. Third place went to Tom Dolan on 72. Frank Gill topped the tree in Division Two with a 74, runner-up was Magdy Taher with 75, Alan Williamson was third also with 25. In the Yellow Tee Stableford Stuart McCall triumphed with his 35 points, runner up was Brian Hillhouse with 34 and John Denton was in third also on 34.
Tue 30 Jun - This Tuesday the ladies competed for the Summer Meeting and it was aptly named. Plenty of brollies acting as parasols out there. In Division One Hillary McNeill came up with the right formula to take top spot with 76, one behind in second was Ros Osborne with 77 with Barbara Jamieson one further back again with 78. Ruth Walker was the winner of Division Two and the winner overall with an outstanding nett 70, runner-up with 75 was Jan Lyon ahead of Liz Grayson in third. Division Three saw Jean Breckenridge top the tree with her 76, one ahead of Mary Holgate in second. Sheila Kenwright's 80 took third. Helen Billington continued some good recent form to return a 71 to win Division Four ahead of runner-up Kate Sellars. A nice gross birdie on the last helped Theresa O'Neill into third with 76
Apologies for the inconvenience of shutting the driving range at 6:30pm this week. My range ball buggy was vandalised on Saturday night along with some parts of the course. I'm in the process of mending the buggy and hope to have the range back to normal ASAP.
