A Swede has won on the European Tour every year since I can remember. Not this year, until Kristoffer Broberg triumphed over Patrick Reed last week. He has stated that it was definitely nothing to do with anything that he learned off Colin Pennington when he lodged for The Open at Hoylake last year! Over in the US it was a Monday finish due to a weather delay. Russell Knox was looking to join a small group of players who have won back-to-back on the PGA Tour and he almost did, eventually losing out to Graeme McDowell in a play-off.
This weekend I am lucky enough to be taking a Pro-Am team across to Dubai to compete in the Nike Golf Invitational. I will keep updating my social media channels on our progress, the first thing being a trip to the Earth course to watch the crowning of the Race to Dubai champion at the DP World Championship.

Last Thursday was November's Seniors Winter Stableford. Callum Dalton recorded a well-deserved victory with a very impressive 40 points, one ahead of runner-up John Body. In third place with 38 points was Rick Austin.
Saturday's Individual Stableford threatened to be a wash out with many walking in due to the relentless rain but the golf course stood firm. In Division One Lee Pennington 'stormed' to victory in this handicap qualifier as his 41 points was four better than three others on 37. Pushing Roy Christian off the podium for second and third were Mike McQueen and Paul Chadwick. In Division Two Phil Boon was also the subject of a handicap reduction as he carded an excellent 40 points, Alan Fraser was runner-up with 38 ahead on countback of John Comer in third.
The ladies played a 12-hole Stableford on Tuesday as temperatures remained mild. In Division One Pauline Darbyshire took the plaudits with 24 points, runner-up with 23 was Ros Osborne with Judith Brown coming third with 20. Division Two was won with 22 points by Jan Lyon. After a countback, Chris Hancock got the better of Chris Lloyd after they both had 21. Marg Nicholas romped to a three point victory in Division Three with 24 ahead of Mary Holgate (21) and Brenda Dooney (20). In Division Four Kath Grainger topped the list with 21, one ahead of runner-up Margaret Steels. Third place was Anne Chadwick with 19.
Congratulations to Alice Rogers on her appointment as Lady Captain elect for 2016.
Well done to captain Pat on his choice of speaker for the Sportsmen's Dinner last week. Billy Foster provided some excellent stories about his journey as a caddy, none more so than the ones about Seve.
Well done to Maureen Blackham and Bette St John for their win in the North West Lady Golfers event at Heswall earlier this month. Local knowledge proving its worth. Marilyn Jones and Jan Lyon finished second.
Some of you have already dropped your clubs in to be re-gripped. We only need half a day to do them. If your grips are too shiny then you will be holding the club too tightly increasing the tension in your wrists and forearms leading to inconsistency with your golf.
Our Xmas gift idea this week comes in the form of Nike Lunar Control 3 shoes. With the imminent arrival of the Control 4, I have slashed the current ones from £129.99 to just £89.99, available in both ladies and gents!
