Black Friday is upon us and we are participants as always. There will be deals to be had throughout the shop but as a taster, all 2015 hardware has been slashed. This includes Titleist rescues, Vokey wedges, Nike Vapor rescues and fairways. All shoes in stock have already been reduced but will have a further 20% OFF for this one-day special.

 

This week's news comes to you from my hotel room in Dubai where four Heswall golfers are competing for the Nike Golf Invitational Trophy. 

This week was the European Tour's season ending DP World Championship. It was so close for Andy Sullivan but he couldn't quite topple Rory who won both the event and the Race to Dubai title on Sunday. 

We were lucky enough to be in the grandstand on the 18th to watch Rory's win and if anyone spotted him throw his ball up into the crowd, you may have seen who caught it…

Yes it was Brian Edwards, out of the thousands of people!


 

The Midweek Stableford on Thursday saw 26 compete in testing conditions. Firstly, Geoff Kimpton recorded the only two of the day. John Body was the winner of the event on countback from Peter Walsh after they both scored 27 points. In third place with 25 points was Gary Lewis.

Saturday saw another leg of the Winter League take place. In the Chris Kenrick, par was the winning score for Jim Eddowes as his 36 points beat both Colin Cubley and Mike Brown by two shots. In the Blair Salver, Neil Stephenson finished top with 33, Steve Skupski runner-up with 31 and Mark Dewhurst was third with 30.

It was the ladies Turkey Trot on Tuesday, and with a score of 51 points the winners were Pauline Darbyshire, Annmaria Kitchen and Anne Chadwick. They finished three clear of Wendy Smith, Ev Wilson & Thea Cornford in second. Also with 48, but losing on countback, in third place were Lorraine Hulse Hollywood, Sheila Scott & Jan Lyon. Congratulations to Sue Totty for recording the only two.
